3 Simple Tips to Get More Real Estate Photography Clients

You may be looking for a steady stream of clients who value your talent and are happy with the pricing packages you provide. Determining and really narrowing down what you want in your business and life will help you get to this point.

This isn’t always the easiest job, but here are 3 tips you can follow to help get to that point in your photography business.

  1. Who is Your Ideal Client?

Think like your ideal client and put yourself in their shoes.

  • Where do they shop?
  • What are their interests and hobbies?
  • What websites do they visit?
Who is my ideal client checklist

Once you understand your ideal client, what they like and don’t like, you can market towards them and know where they’re likely to be at.

For instance, if you want to focus on more of the luxury market in real estate. It would be best to farm or have a list of real estate agents in specific luxury area neighborhoods that you can count on a consistent return of business.

From there you can determine where the luxury agents are likely to be at and what interests they may have. Luxury real estate agents are definitely going to have different views, values, and interests compared to just a real estate agent servicing the middle class neighborhoods.

Once you know this information you can then set up your marketing to target them in those specific areas and ensure your marketing appeals to them.

  1. Drive Inquiries on Your Website

If you don’t already have a website, create one! You can add tons to your website. Your current projects, blogs, articles, discussions and drive up your SEO on Google to position yourself as the leader in your area.

After you know your target market or ideal client base you can start building relevant keywords on your website to focus on what they’re already searching on Google.

For instance, let’s say they want to learn on how and when to get the best lighting for their properties. You could do some research on Google or using Google’s keywords planner to see what the most searched and least competitive terms that are being searched on Google relating to that subject are.

Then, you could write a blog post on your website about how and when to get the best lighting for photos for their property. Adding in keywords throughout the blog post and in the title will help boost you ahead of other websites on Google.

Traffic to website

Adding forms to freebie photo shoots will help generate some new clients that will probably stick with you in the future. Make sure you’re promoting your website elsewhere, whether it’s social media sites, forums, or your business card, you’ll want to make sure people know who you are and where to go for more info.

  1. Get Word of Mouth

To get more people to hear about you here are a few steps you can take to solidify your ideal client:

  • Network – Network with other local businesses in your area to get more people to hear about you. Offer the local businesses free photos for anything they may need and in return ask them to add your business cards, flyers, or examples somewhere in their store or handouts.
  • Show Up in Search Results – Dominate your area by showing up in the search results in Google. Make sure you do some keyword research, so you know what people are searching for and then add it to your website. This could be a post, image descriptions, or simply another URL for your site.
  • Tag – Have people tag you in photos they upload to social media (if they are willing to). This will get more people to hear about you on social media and show off your work.
